“championing inclusivity in cinema”
The objectives of the Little Venice Film Festival as a Community Interest Company are to carry on activities in the Little Venice/Westminster area which will benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to filmmakers and cinema audiences in the UK and internationally.
The Company’s primary focus is to support filmmaking talent and make cinema more inclusive for all via:
- An annual film festival and competition championing inclusivity in cinema.
- Providing support for female directors.
- Focus on inclusivity in film – for filmmakers and film audiences.
- Removal of economic barriers to filmmaking through concessions on competition entry.
- Screening independent films which amplify issues and groups underrepresented in cinema.
- Build a festival team that is permanently rooted in Little Venice - helping to engage with the local community.
-To increase participation in filmmaking by people from LGBT/culturally diverse groups.
- Accessible screenings for disabled, deaf and neurodivergent film audiences.
- Focus on accessibility to the festival for people from all economic backgrounds.
- Competition award categories to support inclusivity in filmmaking.
- Winners to receive funding, support and cash prizes for the continuation of their careers.
- National Youth Showcase category to recognise filmmaking talent in UK schools and under 18s.
- Engagement with local charities - we hope to bring support to their enterprises and fulfil our objectives as a CIC.
